In view of the worsening law and order situation in Karachi, the government has convened an All Parties Conference on January 25, Dunya News reported on Thursday. Earlier, Addressing the Sindh Assembly, Home Minister Zulifqar Mirza strongly blasted the ongoing Rangers operation in the metropolis, saying that he, CM and IG Sindh were not taken into confidence over the operation. Mirza said he has given the authority to Rangers and can strip them of their powers if he wants to. He said the federal government might have ordered the operation directly. Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik also stated that he was also unaware of the Karachi operation but since it was an administrative matter, he did not interfere into it. Responding to Mirzas claim, Malik said that the Rangers and police are subservient to the provincial home minister. Malik said he will ensure that intelligence given by the federal government is shared with the provincial government and acted upon in the future. Malik further claimed that three major incidents of violence have been foiled in Karachi. In the meantime, three people have been shot dead in Karachi.
