Islamabad's local court acquitted Maulana Abdul Aziz in the last case against him too
ISLAMABAD: (Daily Dunya) – Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz has been acquitted in all the cases against him. A local court in Islamabad acquitted him in the last case against him too on Monday, reported Daily Dunya.
Declaring the case filed by social activist Jibran Nasir and others in Aabpara police station as baseless, the court ordered the police to dismiss the case.
It is pertinent to mention here that Jibran Nasir and others had filed the case against Maulana Abdul Aziz on December 19, 2014 while protesting outside Lal Masjid against the APS Peshawar tragedy.
In his short verdict, judicial magistrate Muhammad Naseer ud-Din said that the petitioners couldn’t produce any evidence against the cleric before the police. Police had already declared Maulana Abdul Aziz as innocent in its details report.
