Terming him a non-religious man, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that late Slaman Taseer was killed due to his conflict with the religio-political parties, Dunya News reported on Friday. Talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly, the minister said that Taseer sought Asia Bibis pardon as a political move to make PPP popular among the minorities of the country. However, he ruled out Taseers in any way committed blasphemy: No he never committed any blasphemy, he could not, said the minister who bad-mouthed the late Governor alot during his life. Regarding the ongoing investigation, he said that Taseers murder probe has nothing to do with Punjab government, it is being wrongly directed. PPP leadership abandoned Taseer; the person who is shedding crocodile tears in the Governor House is now alleging us (Punjab govt) of conspiring the murder. When asked about the deadline PML-N set for the incumbent government, Sanaullah maintained, the alliance would be called off if the agenda not implemented. Referring to MQM, he said that it seemed as if the extortionists of Karachi have had their share.
