KARACHI (Dunya News) – Judge, hearing former Prime Minister (PM) Benazir Bhutto’s murder case has been transferred after he summoned former president and army chief, Pervez Musharraf to appear before the court on January 16.

Special Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Number 1, Rai Muhammad Ayub Marth had ordered General (r) Musharraf to appear for hearing on January 16 in capacity of the last witness in the assassination case.

Reportedly, the verdict in the case was likely to be given this month however, the unforeseen development today has delayed the matter.

The former PM was assassinated on December 27, 2007 as she returned to her convoy after delivering an address at a rally in Liaquat National Bagh. A suicide bomb was detonated immediately after shots were fired that claimed her life before reaching a hospital.
