ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has decided to make a necessary amendment to clause 25A of NAB Ordinance, reported Dunya News.
The new amendment will be in effect through a Presidential Ordinance from 12am today.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has revealed that after the amendment all those involved in plea-bargaining would be disqualified for 10 years while the government official involved in corruption would not be eligible for any kind of employment duties.
He let it be known through a press conference alongside the law review committee.
Financial minister professed that they want to implement this law as soon as possible; however there is no session of the National Assembly prior to Jan 29.
Government’s legal team revealed that after the new amendment, NAB ordinance would become the toughest and that nobody would be above the law.
Finance Minister also revealed that a scheme to bring the money being concealed offshore is under consideration however it will take some time.
