ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali retired on Friday after completing his tenure spanning over one year, two months and 21 days.

During his tenure as the Chief Justice of Pakistan, he gave some resolute verdicts including waiving ban on hunt of Houbara Bustard, permitting former dictator and army chief, Pervez Musharraf to leave the country, appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and ordering sixth census in the country.

Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali will be replaced by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, who is the senior-most judge of the Supreme Court. Supreme Court’s chief justice designate Mian Saqib Nisar will take oath today (Saturday).
