Karachi airport attack: Exhumation of ten terrorists ordered over new claims
Sources reported that DNA samples were to be extracted after new claims
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Judicial magistrate has ordered on Friday to exhume ten terrorists to obtain DNA samples in case regarding attack on Jinnah International Airport on June 8 2014.
Two of the total attackers killed that day have been revealed to be belonging to Karachi and not of Uzbek origin as claimed by law enforcement agencies then.
Sources reported that DNA samples were to be extracted.
The development in the case came after two terrorists were arrested earlier this month namely, Ishaq alias Bobby and Asim alias Capri in Liaquatabad area of Karachi. During interrogation, the two target killers revealed that attackers of Karachi airport belonged to the provincial capital of Sindh.
Arrests of both Ishaq and Asim were reported by the Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah in a press conference during which he stated that weapon seized while in their possession matched at least 28 cases of crimes across the city.
It was declared by law enforcement agencies in 2014 that the attackers were of Uzbek origin however, around three years later, it has been revealed that two of them were from Karachi.
At least 36 people were killed while 18 sustained injuries in the attack launched by ten terrorists who were armed with suicide vests, a rocket launcher, grenades and automatic guns.
