Summary Benazir Bhutto Hospital MS says he couldn't say anything about cause of death without postmortem

RAWALPINDI: (Dunya News) – Newborn boy who allegedly died due to teargas shelling has on Friday been buried. The MS of Benazir Bhutto Hospital, however, said that he couldn’t say anything about the cause of death without postmortem, reported Dunya News.

The newborn boy, aged four days only, of Gordon College Colony of Liaquat Bagh died in Benazir Bhutto Hospital today. The parents said that the police had fired teargas shells on Awami Muslim League (AML) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and the smoke made its way into the houses as well. They said that the baby wasn’t able to bear the smoke and her situation deteriorated due to suffocation.

The parents told that they took the baby to Benazir Bhutto Hospital but she died on the way. She was buried in Shah Ki Taalian graveyard after the Isha prayer.

On the other hand, Benazir Bhutto Hospital MS Dr Asif Qadir denied the claim of the parents while talking to Dunya News. He said that the newborn was brought to the hospital at 6 in the evening while the parents claimed that she had been facing troubles in breathing since morning. He said that the cause of death couldn’t be determined without postmortem.
