KARACHI: (Dunya News) – A couple has on Thursday been ‘killed for honour’ upon the orders of jirga. Police arrested six of the suspects in the case but two prime suspects succeeded in fleeing, reported Dunya News.
According to details, Asmat and Farhana of Kohat had married each other three years ago after escaping to Karachi and were living in Banaras area. Upon receiving the information, jirga shifted the couple to Shah Latif Town and ordered their killing.
Taking prompt action, police arrested six suspects including the brother of the woman but prime suspects, her husband and brother-in-law, fled. According to police, the suspects strangled Asmat and Farhana to death.
Police formed special team to arrest the wanted suspects.
