SHC judge refuses to conduct hearing over bail plea of Dr Asim, other suspects

Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto referred the petitions to chief justice of Sindh High Court.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday refused to conduct hearing over the bail plea of Dr Asim and other suspects in a case pertaining to treatment and sheltering of terrorists.

The hearing was to be held by a two-member bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto on the bail plea of Dr Asim Hussain, Anis Kaimkhani, Rauf Siddiqui and Usman Moazzam.

The judge remarked that he had already given remand of the suspects in the case and had also rejected the bail plea previously therefore; the hearing of the latest petitions is not possible.

Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto referred the petitions to chief justice of Sindh High Court so that a new bench can be formed for the hearing.

Cases are under-hearing in Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) against Dr Asim and other suspects.
