KARACHI (Dunya News) – Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly, Khawaja Izharul Hassan on Wednesday has claimed that neither did he attend any of controversial speeches of Altaf Hussain nor he cheered for him during those.
Hassan appeared before an anti-terrorism court today for hearing of cases against him for abetting deliverance of addresses of Altaf Hussain to workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Karachi that targeted national institutions and army.

The court extended interim bail of the opposition leader until October 15 and reissued non-bailable arrest warrants of Dr Farooq Sattar, founder of the party and other proclaimed offenders in the cases registered under terror sections.
While addressing the court to claim his innocence, Hassan said that he was never a part of the addresses that Hussain delivered as he never attended the gatherings.
The opposition leader was arrested on September16 by Senior Superintendent of Police of Malir, Rao Anwar who was suspended later that day.
Khawaja Izharul Hassan was released on interim bail within a couple of days after the arrest.
Analysts dub the post-controversial speeches phase of the political party as turmoil as the organization split in two factions, Hussain was detached with Pakistan chapter and new legal cases were lodged against different members.
