KARACHI (Dunya News) – It was announced in the meeting of Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee by Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman that Moharram ul Haram moon has been sighted and the first Muharram will be on Monday, reported Dunya News.
The ashura will now fall on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
According to Chairman Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, the moon was sighted in certain parts of Pakistan including Dera Allahyar and Khanpur.
Outset of the sacred month also marks the beginning of new Islamic Year.
