The forty-fourth founding day of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is being celebrated across the country on Tuesday (today). On the same date, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was elected as the party chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Party members organized many events to mark the day. Among the goals for the formation of the party were the establishments of an egalitarian democracy and to realize economic and social justice. The PPP has prepared a comprehensive programme to highlight the philosophy of the founder of the party, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and PPPs struggle for democracy and rights of the people as well as to educate the younger generation about party. Enlisting the party achievements, one of PPP ministers said that it range from the adoption of the unanimous 1973 Constitution, the nuclear and missile technology, rights of the minorities, labour and women, enlarging press freedoms, giving a democratic culture, the steel mills, Karakoram Highway, Kamra Aeronautical Complex, Heavy Mechanical Complex, Heavy Engineering Complex, Gwadar Port, Multan Oil refinery, the Eighteenth Amendment, identity to the people of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, making workers share holders in state-run enterprises, political ownership to war against militancy and political reforms in Gilgit-Baltistan, to name only a few, the co-chairman reminded the partys rank and file, he added.
