Summary Modi-led government has refused to lift the curfew on Eidul Azha in Kashmir

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News/APP) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif wished a happy Eidul Azha to the entire nation and dedicated the Eid to the sacrifices rendered by the victimised Kashmiris in their decades long struggle for right to determination against occupying Indian forces.

PM Nawaz said that Eidul Azha reminds the Muslims of the great sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and the obedience of Hazrat Ismail (AS), his son. He said that Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was willing to sacrifice his family for the will of the Almighty.

The premier added that Kashmiris have been fighting for their rights for three generations and have been bearing the atrocities committed through Indian devices.

The government would keep on dedicating all the auspicious days especially Eids to Kashmiris, until the issue is solved according to the will of those who have lost their husbands, father, brothers among countless women.

The premier offered Namaz-e-Eid in Raiwind along with his sons and Member of the National Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif.

Fresh series of brutalities in Indian-held Kashmir began when a local freedom fighter, Burhan Wani was martyred in the valley.

Kashmiris expressed their solidarity with the family of the martyr and their cause because he fought for their rights. However, the situation prompted Narendra Modi government to not impose curfew but increase the use of pellet guns against peace-ful protesters.

Hundreds of men and women including children have lost their eye-sight by losing their sight organs to pellet guns until today since the martyrdom of Wani.

Modi-led government has refused to lift the curfew on Eidul Azha denying, once again, Kashmiris their basic human rights besides violating resolutions of the United Nations.

Pakistan have approached Indian authorities numerous times for talks over the dispute however, India is habitual of either backing down days before the meet or rejecting to convene a meeting for unsubstantial reasons.

Meanwhile, greeting the nation on Eidul Azha, President Mamnoon Hussain urged the people to join the efforts of armed forces and law enforcement agencies for elimination of terrorism and revival of peace to pave way for peace and prosperity.

The President, in his message, said that amid the celebrations of this festival, “we should also remember our brothers and sisters who had been the victim of terrorism, and share their grief.”

“We should also keep in mind our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, who were facing the oppression and atrocities during their efforts for right to self-determination. I feel the time is not far when their sacrifices will come to fruition and they will be able to celebrate the festivals in a free atmosphere,” he added.
