Summary

Federal Information Minister Kamar Zaman Kaira has said that the reservations of allies would be considered and resolved by the government while the government would try its best to get the bill passed from the National Assembly, Dunya News reported on Sunday. Talking to the media in Lala Musa, Kaira said that the RGST bill would be tabled in the National Assembly on 18th December this year. He said that those who are opposing the bill are either unaware of the facts or trying to be manipulative with the government and playing politics on the issue. The minister added that the traders are opposing the bill as they themselves have been evading taxes and after the bill gets passed they would have to pay the taxes. The federal minister also said that the federal government would only collect taxes on goods and services in the federally administered areas whereas tax levying and revenue collecting powers rest with the provinces.
