Summary Attacks on Pakistani media basis of case against MQM chief, sources say
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal government decided on Friday not to demand Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief’s return from the United Kingdom (UK), reported Dunya News.
Scotland Yard shall be provided all evidence regarding MQM chief’s backing of attacks on media houses and spreading unrest in Karachi whereas consultation was also being made regarding placing a ban on MQM.
Sources indicate that the attack on Pakistani media was the basis for the case against MQM chief as the federal government shall be forwarding evidences to the Scotland Yard which shall be provided to them by the Sindh government. The services of the legal council shall also be availed for the legal consultation of the Scotland Yard.
On the other hand, it was decided in the meeting held under the leadership of Minister of the Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan that all Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) be brought within the sphere of law within six months whereas it was also decided that National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) shall be handed over the task of doing geo mapping of Karachi and Quetta to tackle terrorism.
It was also decided in the meeting that Passport offices shall be formed in all districts till February 2017.
