RIYADH (Dunya News) – Pakistani employees of Bin Laden company in Saudi Arabia have appealed the embassy to help them as their nine-month salaries are pending and they are out of ration, reported Thursday.

While conversing with Dunya News, the victimized Pakistan nationals said that they had contacted the embassy concerned in Saudi but no one paid heed to their issue.

Earlier it was reported that, the government had sent a bag of onions, two bags of tomatoes, three packets of tea and a can of oil for 204 stranded citizens in Saudi Arabia.

The victims had refused to accept government’s aid and termed it a joke.

There are companies besides Bin Laden that are having troubles paying their workers. Pakistani workers from two other companies, namely M/s Saad Trading and Contracting Company, Al-Khobar (520 workers) and Saudi Oger Limited (8000 workers) are facing problems in getting their salaries and End of Service benefits.

In addition, the resident permits of many of the employees have not been renewed by the companies concerned. It should be noted here that the companies have not refused the claims of their employees but are not able to pay their dues for several months.

In the given circumstances, most of the workers want to leave these companies but only after settling their dues.

The Foreign Office, earlier this month had taken notice of the issue and claimed that steps were taken to help the stranded nationals in Saudi.

The department had stated that those who wish to return would be provided visas while others would be helped finding a new employer abroad.

Prime Minister was also being presented a daily report on the progress then.

Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashidi, federal minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development was ordered to fly to Saudi and monitor the issue himself.
