Summary Judge Rana Aftab expressed resentment over continuous absence of accused from the hearing.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Customs court on Wednesday has approved one-day exemption plea of model Ayyan Ali in currency smuggling case and adjourned the case till August 31.

According to details, justice Rana Aftab heard the case in which a lawyer of Ayyan’s legal team Khurram Khosa presented a plea seeking permanent exemption of the model in the case.

He said that Ayyan Ali needs to attend court hearing in Karachi due to which she will be absent in this hearing.

Judge Rana Aftab expressed resentment over continuous absence of accused from the hearing and rejected the plea while directing the lawyer to present Ayyan and his counsel Latif Khosa in the court.

Lawyer Khurram Khosa told the court that witnesses were issued threatening notices despite submission of challan. He said that they were warned of severe consequences if they participate in the proceeding.

The counsel also said that his client’s name was illegally included in the murder case of customs officer Ijaz.

Justice Rana Aftab became angry over shouting of the lawyer and directed him to narrow down the exemption plea on one page instead of four pages after which he will issue decree on this matter.

Subsequently, the court suspended the hearing till August 31 by accepting one-day exemption plea.
