Summary Government had announced summer holidays starting from June 1
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Government and private schools have reopened today across Punjab after two and a half months long summer vacations, reported Monday.
Reportedly, the attendance is dismal on the first day of school after the extensive holidays.

Earlier the government had announced holidays from May 24 owing to scorching temperatures. It was decided in a meeting chaired by Education Minister Rana Mashood however, the final verdict of the government was June 1.
The Education Minister had stated that the government would not compromise over health of pupils but the schools that were holdings examinations were allowed to carry on with their routines.
The government had alerted of even earlier closure in case the temperature rose further however, that was not the case.
Schools have opened across the province on the next day of Independence Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, middle, high and higher secondary schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have reopened today after long summer vacations.
Attendance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa schools also remained low.
