Summary Opposition leader forwards 12 names to Chairman of parliamentary committee, sources say
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Syed Khurshid Shah on Friday forwarded the names of probable members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in a letter that he forwarded to the NA Secretariat, reported Dunya News.
Shah forwarded the letter to Chairman of the parliamentary committee Pervaiz Rashid. Detail of the meetings held between Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Khurshid Shah regarding the names of the ECP members was also included in the letter.
It was mentioned that three names were considered from each province as consensus could not be developed over names of four candidates from each federating unit. Furthermore, it was stated that a total of 12 names were being forwarded to the Chairman of the parliamentary committee.
