Islamabad: SC orders closure of fast food outlet at F-9 Park

Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered immediate closure and auction of a fast food outlet illegally built at a recreational park in Islamabad within two months. During the hearing of contempt of court case against Kamran Lashari, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry asked that Why has the F-9 Parks land, grabbed by a fast food chain, given back to CDA despite the court orders?The CJ observed that no compromise can be made on the court directives. Justice Ramday held that non-implementation of court orders is always covered by hanky-panky by the officials concerned. The SC however directed immediate transfer of the said disputed land to Capital Development Authority (CDA) besides its auction at the earliest. The apex court also ordered submission of court orders implementation report in the court. The case has been deferred sine die.
