LAHORE (Dunya News) - The protesting farmers ended their sit-in on Monday night after the Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif assured them of resolution of their problems and fulfilment of their genuine demands, Dunya News reported.
Leader of the Kissan Ittehad, Khalid Khokar, while briefing the media said that the Chief Minister has assured to eliminate the GST on fertilizers and the role of middle man. He said that has also promised to stop the import of agricultural commodities from India.
Khalid Khokar further said that CM Punjab is well aware of the problems being faced by the farmers. He said that a committee has been constituted to solve the electricity bill issues of the farmers. The chief minister has also pledged to reduce power tariff, he said.
