In Faisalabad region, the gas supply of more than 400 textile factories has been suspended for 3 days starting from 6 am today; where as all the CNG stations of the region will also remain closed today and tomorrow. While on the other side All Pakistan CNG Association has announced a symbolic strike on Monday against the two-day load shedding plan. A meeting of Potohar region of the association took place in Rawalpindi. A joint press release which came out after the meeting stated that association disagrees with a two-day load shedding. The CNG stations will remain closed for even the third day as an act of protest against this announcement. It was also decided in the meeting that on 1st November 2010, Monday, all the CNG stations of Potohar region including Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain closed.>br>Electricity load shedding may increase in Karachi due to insufficient supply of gasIt is predicted that electricity load shedding might increase in Karachi due to insufficient supply of gas. An unannounced load shedding of 6 to 8 hours is ongoing in Karachi. Gas supply to Sui Southern Gas Company is not being sufficient enough due to repairs at Karachi Zamzama gas field because of which gas company has decreased the supply of KESC by 50 MMCFD to 130 MMCFD. Gas company has also predicted that this could drop further more. On the other side, KESC has increased the duration of load shedding and if the gas supply is decreased further, then this duration of load shedding will also increase.
