FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Police shot a local dead after he did not stop his vehicle at a security checkpoint near Batala Colony area, Dunya News reported Thursday.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) among five policemen have been booked for resorting to firing in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
Reportedly, three friends, riding a motorcycle, were indicated to stop for checking but fire was opened after they did not comply with the instructions.
Mother of the slain youth demands justice
Sources said that police have shifted two friends of the murdered person to undisclosed location and are shaping the incident as a legitimate police encounter. A case was registered at Batala Colony Police Station against ASI Anwar Ali among five personnel on complaint of Mubashar, slain local s brother.
Authorities concerned took notice of the incident after family of the killed person protested. The family has stated that policemen threw the body along roadside and escaped the scene.
Funeral prayer of the slain local was offered in the early hours today.
