Summary PSP believes in politics based on serving of people, says Raza Haroon
GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Raza Haroon stated on Wednesday that his party is not satisfied with the pace of work of the Joint Investigation Tribunal (JIT) formed by the Interior Minister to probe into the allegations of funding from Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) upon Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), reported Dunya News.
While addressing the media after inaugurating the party’s office in Gujranwala, Haroon said that the party members want to practice politics based on morals through the platform of PSP. He added that no political party has been able to unite the people throughout Pakistan’s traditional and political history, further stating that his party is making an effort to save the country. Haroon said that PSP is the only political party in the country which does not have a flag of its own.
He stated that democracy in the country is believed to be threatened if an allegation is placed upon any leader of the country, adding that the system of the country will remain ineffective until the local governments are not empowered according to the constitution; he said that the law is in contrast with the constitution in regards to the local governments. He said that MQM initiated the Clean Karachi campaign in the city however it was unable to carry on with it because of their ‘kingly’ attitude as the party leaders roam in luxurious cars and have nothing to do with the welfare of the people.
Raza Haroon said that the work pace of the JIT formed to probe into the allegations leveled against MQM regarding the receiving of funds from RAW is not satisfactory. He stated that MQM believes that as long as a person remains associated with it, he or she is all good but as soon as they change their allegiance, they get labeled as ‘filth’. He said that PSP does not believe in the politics that is based on votes but it has faith in the sort of politics that caters to serving the people.
Referring to Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, Raza Haroon said that his ideology matches that of PSP but he will decide whether to join the party or not after relinquishing the post.
Haroon was accompanied with Iftikhar Randhawa who also spoke with the media and stated that he remained affiliated with MQM for 25 years but alienated the party as soon as he became aware that it received funds from RAW.
