120 shifted to hospitals for unhygienic milk consumption in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Consumption of spoiled milk turned around 120 persons critical including children who were shifted to different hospitals, Dunya News reported Monday.

Health department’s report has declared the milk spoiled. Law enforcement agency has taken into custody shopkeeper and owner of the soda water factory.

Around 120 citizens, including a large number of women and children faced severe distress on Sunday after drinking unhygienic milk mixed with soda water. Citizens who suffered afterwards were rushed to General and Allied hospitals.

Shop owner Malik Sarwar Gujjar had set up a free stall of ‘milk soda’ at the inauguration of his new shop in Muradabad area. However, people at the shop faced severe health troubles after drinking the beverage. 

Lack of facilities was reported at General Hospital promtping the families to shift the patients elsewhere. However, doctors have termed the conditions of majority of the patients out of danger.

Police arrested the owner of the soda water factory, Malik Maqsood and sealed the facility. 

Security personnel stated that the Health Department took samples of the beverage and started investigations. They further said that department s report would determine the culprit in the issue. A case was launched in the matter.
