RAHIM YAR KHAN (Dunya News) – After a botched attempt and a failed operation against Chotu Gang in Katcha Jamali area of Rajanpur, Punjab Inspector-General (IG) Mushtaq Sukhera Sunday offered his clarification over the failure. Sukhera claimed that the police officers had been given complete combat training and ammunition for tackling the gang.
Addressing a press conference in Rahim Yar Khan, Sukhera stated that the operation had been initiated with a strategy, adding that success or failure was ultimately in the hands of Allah.
The Punjab IG admitted to the failure in the first phase of the operation against the gang. On the other hand Sukhera further claimed that more than a 100 facilitators of Chotu Gang had been arrested.
Sukhera further stated that the rescue of police officer being held hostage by Chotu Gang was their ultimate priority. He added that they will provide help of every kind to the families of those officers martyred during the action.
