Summary The incident came over a year after a controversy that pushed Jamshed into committing blasphemy.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Singer-turned-preacher Junaid Jamshed on late Saturday was tortured by some unknown miscreants at Benazir International Airport in Islamabad.
A charged crowd claimed that the preacher had committed blasphemy and lunged at him. The people assaulted him and released him to attack again.
"We have been looking for you," one male voice is heard saying in the footage.
"Hit him, him him," they shouted.
The singer-turned-evangelist maintained silence and offered the enraged crowd to "talk" but the mob was so much angry and they didn’t hear him while continuing chanting slogans.
The incident came over a year after a controversy that pushed Jamshed into committing blasphemy. He later offered a public apology by "accepting his mistake" and asked for forgiveness.
The blasphemy case against him was registered in December 2014. Jamshed was alleged over remarking about a wife of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
