ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The religious festival of Christian community Easter is being celebrated across the country today (Sunday).
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in their separate messages have felicitated Christian community on the occasion of Easter.
President said all minorities are enjoying equal rights in Pakistan. He said Christian community not only had played an important role in Pakistan movement but was also contributing in the development of the country.
He said Hazrat Issa (A.S) has taught patience, brotherhood and affection with humanity.
The Prime Minister said government is committed to safeguarding the fundamental rights, safety, honour, life and property of all minorities in the country.
He said father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah unequivocally declared a policy of equality, freedom and security for all communities living in Pakistan, irrespective of their religion, profession and ethnic origin.
