Massive corruption scam revealed in Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital
Two BS-21 officials are also revealed to have played a role in the scam
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Corruption worth more than Rs 10 crore is revealed in Lady Reading Hospital’s drug funds that involves two BS-21 government officials among others, Dunya News reported Thursday.
Law enforcers have apprehended store keeper and contractor of the hospital while first information report (FIR) against Rs 4 crore has been registered. Another six persons have been arrested while four of them have acquired interim bails.
Two of the six persons arrested recently have gone into hiding.
Months-long investigations done on anti-corruption department’s part have revealed involvement of two grade-21 officials in the scam as well.
According to the department, at least ten inquiries are underway to uncover the scandal and more arrests are likely in the near future.
The department has launched inquiries in other hospitals after Lady Reading Hospital scam surfaced.
