Deadlock remains between Punjab govt and private school owners
Most private schools remained closed for the second day in Punjab
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Private schools remained closed the second day as deadlock between Punjab government and private school owners continued on Wednesday while the school owners have threatened to shut down the schools permanently if matters remain unresolved, reported Dunya News.
All Pakistan Private Schools Association and Pakistan Education Council had announced to close the schools for March 8 and 9, due to which, private schools remained closed throughout the province on March 9 (Wednesday). The private school owners have been with the view that Punjab Assembly passed the Punjab Education Authority Bill without taking them into confidence, which is not at all acceptable.
The owners have threatened to shut down the schools permanently if their demands are not fulfilled. According to All Pakistan Private Schools Federation President Kashif Mirza, closed schools include Beaconhouse, Lahore Grammer School, Lacas School System, Lahore School System, City School System, Salamat School System, Allied School System, KIMS School, Resource Academia, Kids Campus, Lahore Pre School, Dar-e-Arkam and American Lycetuff.
