Summary No developmental work has been seen in area for 12 years even though allottees have payed charges.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Citizens of Karachi have apparently been robbed of Rs. 7 billion in the name of a housing scheme called Taiser Town, revealed Dunya News program “Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath”. With not a single sign of any developmental work or project in the housing area for more than 12 years, the scheme’s more than 52 thousand allottees still appear dislocated despite paying the charges for the land.
According to the details, the Taiser Town housing scheme was started back in 2004 for citizens having low or a medium income. However the housing scheme gives off more of an image of ruins than a residential area, with no roads and no provision of electricity, water or gas. Dunya News program highlighted that 1500 developmental projects of Taiser Town have been shown in official papers as completed, while the money has been embezzled.
However, no notice has been taken up until now, neither by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) nor any Provincial anti-corruption department.
Those who bought the land in the area say they have been feeling dislocated for numerous years but nobody is prepared to listen to their plight.
