Summary Parvaiz Rashid says government is standing with oppressed, must respect judicial decisions

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Parvaiz Rashid on Monday said that media plays an important role towards a prosperous society and that Pakistanis want peace as government stands with the oppressed women and those stand by the oppressed, reported Dunya News.

Addressing to Radio Pakistan’s ceremony Parvaiz Rashid said that the media needs to create an environment of responsibility to improve society and avoid creating an atmosphere of extremism and hatred. Media plays a vital role in creating an environment of brotherhood, peace and harmony, he added.

Talking to the media, he said that judicial decisions must be respected adding that Pakistanis are literate. Government knows what is right or wrong and should learn from past experiences, he said.

We should provide peace to Pakistanis rather than confusing them into verbal war of words, he added. The senator was of the view that the Women Protection Bill should have been passed earlier.

Government is not with those who oppress women, but with those who are oppressed and who stand by the oppressed women he ended.
