Summary "MQM leaders built banquet halls after grabbing lands of public parks", he claimed
DUBAI (Dunya News) – Sindh’s ex-minister for Information and Local Bodies Sharjeel Memon on Tuesday said Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has a special affection for him because he “always stepped on its tail”, Dunya News reported.
Responding to Opposition Leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan’s allegations, he alleged MQM leaders were involved in China-cutting, adding that Izhar who calls him ‘wanted’ should tell that half of his party is abroad.
In a statement issued from abroad, Memon said MQM’s grievance against him is that he stopped ‘illegal occupations’ by MQM leaders.
“MQM leaders built banquet halls after grabbing lands of public parks”, he said, adding that he stopped it.
“Several members of Raabta Committee including Anis Qaim Khani and Hamad Siddiqui were taking salaries for several years and were finally caught and terminated,” he added.
Memon said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and Water Board’s 75 thousand employees were registered while thousands of ‘ghost employees’ were fired.
