Terror bid foiled, three militants arrested in Hazara's Torghar

Summary Explosives weighing at least six kilograms were seized during checking

HAZARA (Dunya News) – Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested three militants in Torghar area while seized six Kilogram (Kg) explosives from their possession, Dunya News reported Tuesday.

The counter terror forces foiled a terror bid in Torghar district. Reportedly, arrested terrorists were entering Torghar from Shangla.

Security forces, upon suspicion checked a bag that the persons were carrying along. Explosives weighing at least six kilograms were seized during checking.

The seized items include a grenade, four safety fuses and three detonators.

All three militants have been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.

In January, militants had stormed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa s (KP) Charsadda university named after Bacha Khan. The attack had claimed 21 lives which was dubbed as the second major extremist blow to educational institutes in the country after Army Public School (APS) attack in December 2014.

Bacha Khan University opened on Monday 25 days after the attack. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has numerous times demanded deployment of more Frontier Corps (FC) contingents in the province to counter insurgencies.

The province is more vulnerable to terror attacks due to illegal cross border movement. Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif had called Afghanistan government to take steps during fifth Heart of Asia Conference to ï»¿counter the illegal movement.
