Summary Policemen missed the bullet shells during search operation which were recovered afterwards.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Police personnel showed irresponsibility in the probe of traders’ leader Haleem Jan’s murder by not confiscating bullet shells from the crime scene.
The officers gathered all the evidence from the murder spot but due to ineffective investigation, they somehow missed the bullet shells which were recovered afterwards during cleaning of shop.
The shells were handed over to the deceased’s son.
On the other hand, Station House Officer (SHO) Razzaq Shaheed Khan lodged an FIR under the provisions of murder and terrorism against unknown man while no one from the bereaved family has contacted in this regard.
Traders’ organization is also expressing reservations over the murder probe whereas Haji Haleem Jan’s post mortem report showed that the attacker fired four bullets at him.
Earlier, Veteran traders leader Haleem Jan died off injuries due to an attack by unknown assailant in Peshawar’s Qissa Khawani Bazaar on Tuesday.
An unknown assailant opened fired on Haleem Jan when he was at Qissa Khawani Bazaar of Peshawar. Haleem Jan was taken to Lady Reading hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
Traders in Peshawar have protested against the murder of Haleem Jan. The traders closed the Qissa Khawani Bazaar and held a demonstration against the murder. The traders have given a three-day deadline to the government for the arrest of the culprits.
The traders have demanded that if the government fails to arrest the culprits in three days then it should resign. After the murder of the trade union leader all markets of walled city including Khyber Bazaar, Mina Bazaar, Kochi Bazaar were closed down.
