At least 15 children drowned to death when their school van veered off into River Jhelum near Garhi Dupatta, Muzaffarabad, Dunya News reported on Tuesday. According to the school administration, the coach was carrying 40 children aged between 8 to 13.Dead bodies of 15 kids have been fished out while seven including the driver have been rescued alive.Fear in toll is also feared as the van has been completely sunk into the river, sources said. Reportedly, driver of the van Muhammad Shafique jumped out of the vehicle before it skidded off into the river. Police held the driver, who said that usually 33 children board the coach but today the number of kids was 40 for they were going to attend an Eid Milan party in their school. The unlucky kids were from an orphan school of Hattain Dupatas. Eyewitnesses said that the accident took place due to overspeeding. Armys divers are making efforts to retrieve other missing children.
