Summary Maulana Abdul Aziz also announced that he is ready to forgive Musharraf.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Tuesday granted pre-arrest bail to Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz in two criminal cases against the surety bonds worth Rs 50,000 each, Dunya News reported.
Additional Session Judge Raja Asif Mehmood heard Maulana Abdul Aziz’s bail plea.
The two cases were registered at Aabpara Police Station under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) read with Section ¾ of the Amplifier Act and Section 506 (ii) (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the PPC.
The Lal Masjid cleric was accused of threatening a person identified as Naeem Bukhari and delivering an inciting speech at the Community Centre Ground.
Talking to media outside the court, Maulana Abdul Aziz termed all the cases against him ‘false’.
He said he is ready to forgive former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf and others who were involved in Lal Masjid operation in July 2007.
“I will announce the forgiveness publicly,” Aziz told reporters.
On the other hand, Aziz’s lawyer Advocated Tariq Asad opposed his client’s stance and announced that he will register a case against him if he pardoned the characters behind Lal Masjid operation.
