LONDON: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) claimed that the money-laundering charges against MQM chief Altaf Hussain have on Monday been dropped. However, Scotland Yard says that the investigations will continue, reported Dunya News.

According to MQM sources, Altaf Hussain has been acquitted in money-laundering cases and the criminal charges against him have been dropped. The sources also claimed that Altaf’s passport will also be handed back to him tomorrow. Altaf Hussain will not have to appear before the police now though he was scheduled to appear before the police on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Scotland Yard sources told that the evidence in money-laundering case is still being investigated. They said that the investigations will continue but a timeframe for the completion of these investigations cannot be given.
