ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Police on Monday arrested the mastermind of missile attack plan on Parliament house in 2011. The culprit turned out to be a retired colonel of Special Services Group (SSG) named Tassaduq Bashir, reported Dunya News.

According to the details, a retired colonel of SSG confessed to planning missile attack on parliament house in October 2011 with help of other terrorists as he got arrested by police in suspicion of murder. Police have recovered 15 missile, suicide jackets and 9 hand grenades during a search operation in Azhar Town on October 8th, 2011.

The arrested colonel had been in custody of secret agencies in Lahore as well, sources said. Court gave two days physical remand of the suspect to the police in murder case.

Anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday has ordered authorities to arrest and present all 17 accused in Parliament and state-run television attacks case after counsel maintained absence in hearing.

Syed Kausar Abbas held hearing of Pakistan Television (PTV) attack case. As many as 86 workers belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) appeared before the court.

The court expressed resentment over the remaining workers’ absence and issued arrest warrants. The 86 workers were released on bail earlier. This is not the first hearing when the counsel failed to appear for hearing. Challan in the case has also not been filed yet.
