RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – In view of the possible terror threats posed to the educational institutions of the country, Rawalpindi police officials held a mock exercise in Gordon College.

The exercise was also attended by commandos and rescue officials.

The security personnel safely rescued the students and teachers after battle with fictitious terrorists.

In wake of the recent attack on Bacha Khan University, security has been tightened all around the country.

Educational institutions in Punjab have also been shut down due in pretext of the terror threats to them and will be opened after ensuring that they are properly secured.

On January 20, atleast 21 people were martyred in an attack on the university campus in Pakistan’s tribal northwest which was claimed by a faction of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), barely a year after a massacre at a school in Peshawar that killed more than 150 people.

Security forces killed all four attackers during the operation.

Security forces said the young attackers had hidden in fields surrounding the Bacha Khan University taking advantage of fog that severely restricted visibility to enter the premises unnoticed.

The attack spurred widespread outrage across Pakistan, with a candlelight vigil for the victims held in different areas of the country.
