Unknown miscreants riding on motorcycle hurled a cracker near Rangers’ check post under Matric Board Office bridge in North Nazimabad and escaped from the scene.

A contingent of law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area.

According to Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), the home-made bomb weighing 250 grams was placed in a bottle.

On the other hand, two armed suspects tossed a hand grenade near a shop and a private company in Liaquatabad’s Super Market.

Luckily, no person was hurt in the incident while the suspects managed to escape from the scene.

Reason behind the attack could not be ascertained yet.

Karachi, a sprawling city of roughly 20 million, has long had a reputation for high crime rates as well as ethnic, political and sectarian violence.

Overall levels of militant, criminal and sectarian-linked violence have decreased significantly since paramilitary forces began a sweeping crackdown in 2013.
