Summary

The water level has receded in Manchar Lake as flood waters flow into the Indus River. Several adjoining villages have been inundated. Various parts of the Indus Highway have also been inundated. According to reports, road links between Sehwan and Obarao City have been disconnected and a large portion of the road has been swept away.The water has been diverted into the Indus River with the help of a cut at RD 100 Bhan Saeedabad and a cut on the near by railway line. A large area of Bobak, Daal and Bayikhtyarpur has been flooded due to a breach in the protective embankment. Thousands of people from the nearby villages of Sehwan Sharif and Dadu have taken shelter at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.The waves have also submerged a Parco oil refinerys pumping station in the area. Many of Parcos staff is stranded on the stations rooftop waiting for help to arrive. However the main pumping station of the refinery is safe.
