Arrested terrorist Adil Masood reveals links with Al-Qaeda
Adil Masood confessed on funding the terrorists with millions of rupees.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A terrorist arrested earlier from Karachi, Adil Masood Butt, on Tuesday revealed his links with extremist organization Al-Qaeda. During interrogation Butt confessed on funding the terrorists with millions of rupees and admitted that he was in contact with suspects of Safoora incident.
Butt was earlier arrested on 1st of December on identification of another arrested Al-Qaeda operative Khalid Bari. The interrogation report of the banned outfit’s aid has been obtained by Dunya News.
During the interrogation, Butt said that he was in contact with Al-Qaeda members Bari, Sheba Bhai, Umer Jalal, Dr. Akmal and Saad Aziz along with Naheed Baji and other women for several years.
Butt revealed that he came in contact at first with Bari and then with Dr. Akmal through Tanzeem-e-Islami organization. He started funding for Al-Qaeda on the advice of Dr. Akmal.
Butt further disclosed of a scuffle between Bari and Jalal regarding laundering and embezzlement in funding and of a meeting to settle the dispute at his home.
Butt has also confessed of being a business partner of Safoora incident’s prime suspect Saad Aziz and his father Aziz Sheikh.
Bari’s wife Naheed had also provided Butt and his wife with cd’s on Islamic State (IS) ideology.
Further significant arrests are expected in light of the revelations during the interrogation.
