Karachi: Traffic police officer beats citizen, puts behind bars

Man exchanged arguments with police as he was barred from parking motorbike in police station

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Traffic wardens in Karachi brutally beat a resident named Shafique in PIDC area on Monday, reported Dunya News.

According to the details, an angry man had an exchange of arguments with the traffic wardens after he was barred from parking motorcycle at a police station. The residents of the area became angry and protested against police outside Civil Lines police station.

Police started aerial firing to scare away the angry protestors but the mob entered the police station. Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) Halim Adil Sheikh also reached the police station. Police freed Shafique on personal guarantee afterwards. Shafique thanked media for highlighting his issue and distributed sweets after winning against the injustice.

Shafiq told police officers that he came out to pay electricity bill when traffic personnel attacked him, retaliating to which he also gave befitting response.
