KARACHI (Dunya News) -- During 2015, crude oil prices fell 37% However, government lowered prices of diesel and gasoline by approximately 10%, reports Dunya News.

Over the year, price of crude oil dropped from $ 59 to $ 37 per barrel, which is said to be the lowest level in 8 years, in the international market. The price of petrol per liter fell from Rs 84.53 to 76 while diesel prices fell from Rs 94 to 84 per liter. As per experts, the fall in prices of crude oil was adjusted slightly to accommodate domestic users in addition to consolidating the national exchequer.

As per an estimate, government is charging taxes of Rs 25 per liter on petrol and Rs 33 on a liter of diesel.
