Summary The Auditor General said such precious gifts cannot be sold
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Cabinet Division has illegally sold gold sword and dagger gifted by the Saudi King, Dunya News learned on Monday.
According to details, the royal gift was to the state of Pakistan and was illegally taken and stolen by the Cabinet Division. The gifts carried precious ornaments and were gifted to Governor General of Pakistan in the year 1956.
As per documents, the sword and dagger remained in storehouse for as many as 57 years. The Auditor General of Pakistan has already termed the sale of the gifts illegal. He said such precious gifts cannot be sold.
The Auditor General has recommended to bringing those responsible to justice after carrying out proper investigation.
