Summary Sartaj Aziz says decision to join Saudi alliance well thought out but some matters still undecided
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) –Foreign Advisor Sartaj Aziz has on Monday given an ambiguous answer about Pakistan joining the Saudi alliance. Aziz said that the decision to join the alliance is well thought out but some matters are still undecided, reported Dunya News.
Giving a policy statement in the Upper House, Foreign Advisor said that Pakistan’s decision to join the Saudi-led alliance was well thought out but Pakistan’s role in the alliance is still under discussion.
When Chairman Senate questioned Foreign Advisor over 4 countries not joining the alliance, Foreign Advisor said that Pakistan is not the only country to have joined the alliance and there are 34 others.
Chairman Senate said that the house doesn’t want to know about the other countries. “Tell us about Pakistan. We are not doing chit-chat here. You are giving the official stance of the government right now”, said the Chairman.
Instead of giving a straight forward answer to the question by Chairman Senate, Sartaj Aziz said that entire world is appreciative of Pakistan’s role against terrorism.
