BMC hospital in Quetta lack basic facilities despite raise in health budget

No effective use of the budget has been made to improve the condition of the hospitals.

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Despite of 34 percent increase by Balochistan government in health department, hospitals are still deprive of basic facilities.

Dozens of patients on regular basis consult the second main hospital in Quetta, Bolan Medical Complex (BMC), for their treatment but instead get more sick due to the worse condit

The burn unit is also situated in the same hospital where people scorched in various incidents are facilitated.

However; no arrangement of cleansing is present in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of this department.

Besides this staff is also missing and the wards and dressing room in the unit is filled with heaps of garbage whereas cats are also seen wandering in the wards.

Observing all such situation, it can be concluded that the increase in budget made by the government in the health department is only limited to paperwork as no effective use of the budget has been made to improve the condition of the hospitals.

Resultantly, patients are facing serious difficulties and troubles in getting treatment from the hospitals due to the absurd situation created by negligence of the authorities.

On the other hand, hospital staff is of the view that they posses no material for sanitation purpose whereas they have also informed the authorities many times of the problem but no solution has been deviced yet.
