KARACHI (Dunya News) – Several shops turned to ash late Thursday night as a fire broke out in Liaqatabad’s cloth market. More than 4 cloth and bangles’ shops were completely destroyed while more than 60 of them suffered extensive damage. The flames were finally extinguished using 10 vehicles of the Fire Brigade and 2 tankers. A cooling process has now been started.

According to the details, the raging inferno started due to an electrical short circuiting in a cloth shop in Liaqatabad’s Gol Market. The blaze engulfed nearby shops as well.

The raging fire was finally put out after battling with the flames for more than 2 and half hours.

The rescue efforts were severely hampered by the smoke and the narrow streets of the area.
